Honorable Karen S. Metzger

Judge Metzger was admitted to the Bar of Colorado in 1970. She served as a public defender and was engaged in the private practice of law in Denver before she was appointed to the Denver County Court in 1977. After serving as a county judge for two years, Judge Metzger was appointed to the Denver District Court in 1979. She was appointed to the Colorado Court of Appeals on July 15, 1983.

Judge Metzger has been deeply involved in continuing legal, judicial and public education, as well as civic and charitable activities. She is a member of the Colorado Supreme Court’s Judicial Advisory Committee and a member of the Family Law Subcommittee of the Judicial Advisory Committee.
