Judge Rodgers, appointed in 1986, presides as a Gilpin County judge. He has practiced law for 24 years. He was previously a member of the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and a Juvenile Court Referee Commissioner in Denver.

He was also a Chief Deputy District Attorney in Denver. He participates in a number of community activities such as Big Brothers. Professionally, he is active as a faculty member at the National Judicial College. He has developed and participated in programs emphasizing juvenile offenders.

Rodgers presides over criminal and civil cases and on occasion hears domestic relations cases.

Responses from attorneys, jurors, law enforcement, probation and social service workers overwhelmingly favor his retention. A few responded at times he is stern and intimidating , but he is highly praised for being articulate, fair to all parties, and extensively knowledgeable about law. He conducts an organized and efficient courtroom and has a broad range of judicial experience.
