The Fifth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance recommends that Judge Russell H. Granger BE RETAINED.

Judge Russell H. Granger was appointed to the bench as a County Judge in the Fifth Judicial District in 1998. Previous to this appointment he practiced law in a general private practice in Georgetown, Colorado as well as serving as the Town Attorney for Georgetown. Judge Granger also contributes considerable time lecturing law students in areas of contracts, property, tort, and criminal law. Judge Granger is a well-rounded individual involved in the community through the local fire department and National Ski Patrol. He is well liked in the community.

Judge Granger received outstanding marks in the performance survey by attorneys in most areas including application and knowledge of law, communications, demeanor and diligence. In fact, 100% of all attorneys surveyed recommended that Judge Granger be retained with comments ranging from his knowledge of the law, his fairness to all parties concerned and his thoughtful and dignified demeanor on the bench.

The non-attorney survey respondents awarded slightly lower scores in all areas but resulted with a 79% recommendation for retention. Comments included his busy schedule, not starting court on time and being regarded as aloof by some.

Judge Russell H. Granger is an outstanding County Judge who loves what he is doing in the Fifth Judicial District as he was born and raised in the mountain region of Colorado.

The Commission sees a bright future for him and supports his goal of becoming more proficient at Juvenile Law and Procedure.

The Fifth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously voted to recommend retention of Judge Russell H. Granger.
